My Entry for the WE LOVE SUMMER 2019 - PHOTOCONTEST: Best Summer Ever!

This was literally the summer escapade that ended our summer, and it was the best ever!

My sister moved and brother-in-law moved to this isolated island, which is a far-cry from modernity. Life here is free from fast-paced, with only four hours of generator-generated electric power, and with only few spots of minimal signal to connect to the outside world. Yet ironically, it makes life uncomplicated.

With a four year old son, it is only safe for us to cross unto this island during summer times, when seas are not rough. At other times during the year, they say, waves can be as high as houses! It's a little scary. So we squeezed our schedule to make it this year's summer, or else we have to visit them next year.

And on the 2nd to the last day of our week's stay, they brought us here. They call this place Pigsutan, which means "crevice" in English. The water passing through the crevice is creating a splash. It was fun watching it but scary at the same time. This is the Pacific Ocean colliding with the land, so one false move can be dangerous.

But there's this safe lagoon-like area, which is shielded from the smashing waves, and this was where we spent the day swimming to our heart's desire.

We left this island feeling recharged with gusto. And I know that if we reach our limit in the energy-consuming city life, we shall escape and return here.

It was a week of full of activities--all fun and exciting and new. Indeed, the best summer ever!
