Bring out the Jezebel in you!

Jezebel in the Bible was a wicked queen. So many people were scared of her. Everyone knew what she was capable of doing and avoided her at all costs. She was even scarier than the king himself!
We are all familiar with how bad she was and all the evil she did, but one thing we fail to notice is the fact that Jezebel was the perfect example of what a good wife should be. She had some qualities that every lady should emulate and your are about to find out what they are!

Jezebel was observant

But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said unto him, Why is thy spirit so sad, that thou eatest no bread? 1 Kings 21:5

Despite her busy schedule being a queen and doing all her evil, Jezebel not only still had time for her husband, she also noticed his moods. King Ahab had come home looking so forlorn. His countenance was down and he refused dinner.
His loving wife, knowing this was not the usual habit of her husband came in to enquire what was wrong with him. She was able to notice something was wrong and decided to find out what it was.
Some ladies are not that observant. I have heard most men complain that their wives are not just understanding or do not know when and how to talk to them. This is because the ladies find it difficult to notice when his spirit is sad and when he is in a good mood.
Just like Jezebel, ladies need to understand and be observant of their man’s moods and relate with them according to it.

Ahab trusted her

And he said unto her, Because I spake unto Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee another vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give thee my vineyard.1 Kings 21:6

There have been cases where the man of the home has a problem and decides to solve it on his own. His reasons? There’s no need telling my wife, it would make no difference, she would only compound the whole issue.
Ahab and Jezebel’s relationship was not like that. Ahab knew what his wife was capable of doing. He knew he did not have to carry the whole weight on his own. He knew his second half was there to share his burden with and she was going to help him get a solution.
Dear ladies, how many men can trust you that way. If we cannot prove to be capable enough to help him out both in good and bad times, then they will continue to see us a ‘money collectors’ and that is where our usefulness ends.

She actually did something!

And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? arise, and eat bread, and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite. 1 Kings 21:7

This is the part I love the most. Jezebel made her husband understand as long as he had her, that tiny issue should be no worries at all. She would take care of it, it was as simple as that.
In today’s world, the reverse is always the case. The lady is always downcast and the men usually come in and save the day! It’s time we ladies step up our game. It is about time we could say,

don’t worry, 1.5million should not make you look so downcast and avoid dinner, I’ll call my lawyer and make the transfer to your account!

This was the kind of wife Jezebel was. She was not just there for him through thick and thin, she helped out a great deal. Although Jezebel’s methods were the wicked and evil ones and should not be emulated, her role as a wife was superb and we could all learn from that!
