Giving

Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” (Luke 6:38)

The Bible preaches about giving. Pastors on the pulpit would not stop talking about it. Bring your tithes and offerings they say. But then, do we really have to give?

The answer to that question is No. Yes, that is correct, No, we do not have to give.
I will try to buttress this point with a little example.

Sowing

Let us look at the life of a farmer. He goes out to his farm, harvests his crops, takes it home and enjoys the harvest with his family.

But then, he does not consume it all. He keeps a little, he saves some part of it to give back to the ground during the next planting season. He does this because, he is concerned about tomorrow.

He does this because he knows he had to deposit something to the earth just so he could get back more the next harvesting season.

No law on earth says it is compulsory for him to do that. No one makes it a law for him to think about tomorrow. It absolutely is not compulsory. Just a matter of choice.
But he does it anyway, because he knows its importance.

The farmer also knows not all the seeds he puts into the ground would eventually bear fruit. But that does not stop him from planting.

He knows weeds, crop pests or natural disasters could come in and turn his efforts to wasted ones. But still, there he is....planting, sowing and expecting...

The same applies to giving. You absolutely do not have to. No, don't mind those who tell you it is compulsory to give. It actually is not.

Giving

It is a personal choice.
Giving means sowing. But the amazing thing about giving is, there are actually no bad seeds involved. All you do it's reap reap reap.

No matter what you give, in one way or the other, you are bound to reap from it.
It might not be today, it might not be tomorrow but you surely will reap the benefits of your efforts.

It might be an offering in church, a helping hand to the weak, food for the hungry, help for the destitute... Whatever it is, a seed is a seed.

It will grow and give amazing fruits when you least expect it.

Step out of your stingy zone today. Extend a helping hand to someone in need. Help a soul today. You might be thinking, I do not have so much, what do I have to give?

Trust me, the little you have right now, is someone's prayer point! So give a little something today, I promise you would not regret it.

Yes, you do not have to give, but you absolutely should.

Hmmmmnnn. If we a can inculcate the habit of giving, I am so sure the world would be a better place for us all. I absolutely love the fact that the write up didn't cajole people into giving because that's where we are getting all wrong. Give not because someone coax, sweet-talk you into it, Give because that little is someone expected miracle.

Exactly... Giving should be by freewill
