SunThursday - Hibiscus Coast

in sunthurday •  8 years ago

This morning the sunrise took place at about 6:40am in Hibberdene on the south coast of South Africa. Every year the sardines migrate north during the winter months to the warmer waters near the equator. During this migration they often wonder close to the shore and this allows for fisherman to wade waist deep in the water and catch nets full of fish by hand. One of the famous beaches where the fish usually come to shore is in Hibberdene. Just be warned that the sardines are normally followed by predators so it's not a good idea to be in the ocean during the sardine run, as you might be mistaken for lunch by a great white shark....

Once a shelter for one of the local residents, now a souvenir to take home as remembrance of your visit to the beach.
