SunThursday - Morning sun rays

in sunthursday •  7 years ago

Good morning to all!!

I discovered this summer while photographing the sun for #SunThursday that when pointing the camera directly to the sun I would get this ray effect.

I'm not sure if one should point the lens to the sun. Is it harmful to our eyes, or to the lens!?
(I would really like to know)

Anyway, a month ago I went on a boat trip in the morning and decided to capture the sun and the old building on the right!

I loved the contrast and the man on the sidewalk

It is the old train station of Barreiro and I found it beautiful

I took another shot on our return, allowing to see the amazing details of the old building.
Hope it gets on a recovery project soon :)

This is my submission to #SunThursday tag that was initiated by @uwelang to share our special photos from the sun. Now it is led by @lizanomadsoul!

Thank you a lot! :)

Olha olha.

:P eheheh

I wondered about the dangers of the sun too - I took some shots of the sun over the lake the other day and was kind of blinded for a bit - and wondered if there might be some long term dangers. I have a polaroid lens that protects my camera lens but I don't think that really helped.

I'd be interested to know this as well - although I do like seeing the rays.

That old building is amazing. I hope they restore it as well.

I don't have any protection for my lens or camera. I should ask a professional photographer!

I love the rays, like in your photo of last week. :)

me too....remember I told you I had a hood for my lens too? You might want to ask about that as well.....I think mine was about $40 Cdn....give or take. Helps protect it from the debris in the wind and the lens thing helps with the sand blasting at you on the beach. But do check it out!

I checked it. I was never worried to protect the lens, but I might need one hood urgently.

I saw this informative video:

Thanks so much. I enjoyed his teaching style....I'm going to reference him for sure!!
