Shreveport Steamer: My Fantasy Became An Action.

So, this is about fantasy football, ya freaks. Sorry to let you down.

With the conclusion of this year's season, I figured I would share this. I decided to take a stand against them and completely boycott in protest. That organization is an example of everything wrong with US. They leverage huge amounts of welfare from state governments while boasting huge profits. Not to mention the selective stances on players politicizing their platform. I am not getting into the specifics, because I feel that teams and players are brand of the league and I would rather not help them promote their products.

But that is not really the point of this post.. Well.. Not completely..

I enjoy football with friends and have been playing fantasy in the particular league for a year. It ranges from 12 to 16 teams and some how I almost always manage to make it into the playoffs but have failed to take home the trophy. Ah, yes, the coveted trophy. Last year, I was in the championship game and lost a close game to a great friend. This year I found myself leading the league until the end of the season. In the final weeks I was ousted from the bye in the playoffs. I ended up taking the long way into the championship game, but I made it.

I lost.

I really thought I was going to win it without watching one second...

It was horrific. Up until that point, I had totally avoided knowing anything about what was going on. I made all of my judgements on Tuesday after all the games had been played solely based on statistics. None of that stress that comes with this mess. So. My mother thought she was doing me a favor by telling that my favorite team had recovered a fumble in the red zone. From my running back. I then get a text talking about how close it is going to be, so I had to look. There were a few ways I could have avoided it. I was down by 6 points. That touchdown would have made the difference. I had one player to go. My quarterback that I drafted late for the last decade was benched for a new stud who was a dud this particular week. On paper, it was the right play. Still, one player. He has been consistent. My opponent was done. This was it. Goose egg. I am still a bit.. Crabby.

I had even bought myself a couple shirts to celebrate.
