SUPERBOWL 52 TIDBITS

in superbowl •  7 years ago  (edited)

Here are some Initial Thoughts on SuperBowl 52 between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots:

*The Eagles will be wearing their "midnight green" jerseys for the game.

*The Patriots as the "home team" get to choose which jerseys they will be wearing for the big game. They elected to wear their road white jerseys. (The Patriots are 3-0 under Belichick in the SuperBowl when wearing their white jerseys.)

  • The team wearing "white" has won 12 of the last 13 SuperBowls.

*New England is 5-4 in their SuperBowl History; making their 10th appearance. Last appearance: defeated Atlanta 34-28 in OT in last year's SuperBowl.

*Philadelphia is 0-2 in their SuperBowl History; making their 3rd appearance. Last appearance: lost 24-21 to New England in SuperBowl XXXIX, following the 2004 season.

*The Patriots will be attempting to join the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2) with the most SuperBowl victories with 6.

*New England is tied with the Dallas Cowboys (5-3) and San Francisco 49ers (5-1) for 2nd most SuperBowl victories all-time.

*The Green Bay Packers (4-1) and New York Giants (4-1) are next with 4 victories.

*The Denver Broncos have the most Super Bowl losses with 5 (3-5) all-time.

*The Minnesota Vikings (0-4), Buffalo Bills (0-4), and New England Patriots (5-4) are next with 4 losses.

*The Miami Dolphins (2-3) and Cowboys (5-3) are next with 3 losses.

The Last time Minnesota hosted a SuperBowl, was SuperBowl XXVI, on January 26, 1992 and saw the Washington Redskins defeat the Buffalo Bills, 37-24.
