Augmentin and Oral Infections

My answer to the Quora question, "Is Augmentin Good for a Throat Infection?"

The most common side-effects in my experience are secondary fungal infections such as vaginal yeast and mucocutaneous candidiasis (thrush, jock itch, and athlete's foot), and diarrhea. The last is sometimes caused by Clostridium difficile, a pathogenic gut bug, which results in a nasty illness we call "C. Diff Colitis."
