What is Supreme?

History of the brand
Supreme was first opened as a skateboarding brand in New York City 1994 by James Jebbia. Although he was born in England he moved to New York at the age of 19 and opened the first supreme store on Lafayette Street in downtown Manhattan featuring a very unique store design with skaters in mind having the clothes arranged around the walls of the store so that skateboarders could come in from the street easily and making it feel much more comfortable.

What is Supreme like today?
Supreme has in my opinion widened out to a far greater audience with their clothing as they still sell skateboarding items such as shoes and skateboard decks and accessories however the majority of the people buying the clothes do not skate at all. Today supreme has a very large reselling market which although supreme hasn't formally said this but it is clear it is what they want people to be doing.

Why is the resell market so high?
Supreme's resell market is insanely high because they are known for making very little quantities of each item and hyping them up making so many people want it. This makes the website crash, store queues build up touncontrollable levels and most importantly, resell value increase to crazy prices. Their most iconic design is their 'Box Logo' design which is literally just a t-shirt or hoodie with supreme written in a box. Depending the colour/ design of the box logo the prices vary but the classic Red logo on white t-shirt which they release every 5 years as an anniversary item retails at around £50/$60 and resells as high as £500/$600! By this you can see any serious reseller would make a good profit from reselling items from the weekly drops.

How can I get supreme for myself?
Supreme drops new items every Thursday if its in season however it is very hard to get especially now the hype is much more than it was even a year ago. However if you are willing to try you can either go to your nearest store or try online. There are few supreme stores so chances are you don't live near one you can check their website to view where all their stores are I will link you there in a second. If you want to try and buy in store you have to sign up before the Thursday. I would give you a detailed tutorial how to however each store has a different way to sign up and get a random place in queue. If you would like more info son this please let me know and I will try to write that as soon as possible. To buy online at www.supremenewyork.com it is very hard as items can sell out in under 10 seconds sometimes. You can buy a bot to automatically buy an item for you however supreme are very against this and they can be sometimes unreliable. If you miss out on a drop websites such as depop, eBay and grail all have a very good market place for supreme, you will have to pay a higher price of course though. Be careful buying supreme from other users as there are a lot of fakes out there. My quick advice for spotting a fake is looking at the price (if its extremely cheap for what it is or brand new and costs below retail) and looking at the quality of stitching etc. If you would like a detailed tutorial on how to spot a fake please let me know and I will do my best to write that as soon as I can.
