This is a necessary book if you are thinking of getting a van and tracking down the best surf spots throughout New Zealand.
The Taranaki Region is known for it's many surf breaks along highway 45, including the infamous Stent Rd. Just watch out of the sheep crossing the road and lookout for cow poo when you are trekking across farmland to get to the break. It will be an experience you won't forget.
