Really beautiful

Thank you!

I live in Bali and don't know how to surf, I feel bad now haha

Well, get down to the beach and grab a board ! :)

There's soooo many surfers there and schools too. In no time you will be ripping it up!

I'm looking forward to seeing your surf shots! : )

Ross, do many people 'shoot the pier'? Nice shot!

All the time! There's a big deep spot under the pier and on both sides next to it, so it takes a good size wave to get all the way through. It's a huge pier, there's enough space between the pilings to do it. It's pretty scary when you're right up on it!

Epic! Videos always look so crazy

A million years ago at the US Open contest i saw Sunny Garcia get a big left, go through the pier and keep going and it reformed into a right and he rode back into the pier in the shorebreak from the other side! Haha that was epic!

Oh my, what a sight!

I should look it up. That was the same contest that had a huge riot too i think

I always imagine it as this..junglegeorge-treewatch2_4936.jpg

Ouch! LOL

It looks so close to shore. How deep is the water? Wierd in my head i had it breaking right.

It's further out than it looks - the telephoto lens is compressing it a bit - but not too far.

Probably about 4 or 5 feet deep.

There are rights and lefts on both sides of the pier. Changes a bit on different swells : )

Ah right, so I wasnt imagining it. Bells shorebreak.gets a bit like that. Deep drop just off the sand.

I just watched the Bells contest! I've been following that since i was a kid
