Metamodernism & The Metaverse

Odd isn't it? These vast networks of looping mechanisms across these multi-dimensional states and stages of existence cascading and inter-operating within and between us all. Yet, we're none the wiser of their effects, their history, their existence and unbinding significance in our lives. Well, I happen to believe that that shouldn't be so. That if we not only individually but as a collective, actively increase our capacity and willingness to become further aware of these mechanisms, of these impressions, memes and meta-memes, the malleability of these aspects. The welfare and quality of our states and stages across all dimensions, will increase exponentially in conjunction.

Now what am I referring to exactly when I use these largely vague terms, such as 'mechanisms' and 'impressions'? The mechanisms of evolution, of course. Of cultural diffusion, of the laws of physics, of psychological warfare, of social normativity and the multi-variate impressions these constant loops embed within the code of I, of us, as transindividuals; within our respective communities, cultures, modes of behavior, cognitive development and self-identity.

Expanding on that in a more deliberate manner, let us utilize some of the models provided by Metamodernism. Specifically, those developed and curated by a prominent contributor of these strains of thought, Hanzi Freinacht. In short, Metamodernism is an emerging political philosophy that essentially deconstructs, reconstructs and transcends via oscillation, the narratives of modern and postmodern schools of thought.

Now what does that mean? It basically re-frames and re-configures their given narratives, whilst also distilling the transgressive, outdated memes associated that no longer serve their purpose, that have long persisted parasitically outside their initial context(s).

Combining the modern faith in progress with the postmodern critique. Reconstructing a view of reality in which people are on a long, complex developmental journey towards greater complexity and existential depth.

As a meta-framework, it organizes and exposes the faults and redeemable aspects of our given narratives. Not only of modernism and postmodernism, but schools of thought that came before them. It maps the roots, measures their depth, their length and the terrain they've grown from, that they've transformed and continue to transform. From here, we plan on using this map to trek & shape our emerging blockchain-based Metaverse and eventually, our meaning-based Multiverse. Stay tuned, my fellow co-creators.
