First Time Making Sushi

This is a little different from what I post about, because it is about making sushi! I am a huge sushi lover, I could eat sushi everyday but for good quality sushi it becomes expensive and if you're anything like me (broke, college student) then you cannot go out to eat that much. So this blog is about how I made sushi for the first time.

Had this idea on trying to make sushi for the first time, and it turned out a lot better than I thought. I went to an Asian supermarket and gathered some ingredients:

  • rosted seaweed
  • sushi rice
  • crab
  • wasabi
  • cucumber
  • spicy mayo
  • soy sauce (of course!)

As you can see, I was pretty excited. I started with cooking the rice, then chopping up some crap and cucumbers. Once the rice was done I let it cool off a little, but not too much because my stomach was growling at this point. Then laid the rice over the seaweed. I added the crab and cucumbers at the end of the rice and seaweed and rolled it up with a towel carefully. Once I rolled it up, I started cutting into pieces making my final sushi rolls!

Afterwards, I added some wasabi on top, but it ended up being too much because once I took a bite I felt as if my nose was going to fall off! Then added soy sauce and spicy mayo on the side making my sushi dinner complete!

This is my final result! Also it was falling apart a little so I did not roll the sushi tight enough and hopefully next time will stay intact. This was my very first time making sushi and it turned out a lot easier than I thought. I hope my blog inspires all the sushi lovers to attempt to make their own sushi, because you will be so satisfied with yourself once you completed!
