Another Sustainable Upgrade

My life's foundation is true creation.

I love upgrading everything I am a part of, making it more beautiful,
more functional, more enjoyable, and higher vibe
than before I touched it.

The outdoor shower at the @gardenofeden is one of the most loved
experiences, especially in these hot over 100 degree summer days.

Showering amongst the rose buses and grape vines while the birds sing
and the sun peeks through the trees can be invigorating as the
temperature of the water straight from the earth is about 65 degrees all the time.

While expanding the shower space, removing the vines that grew into the trees and invaded our rose buses, I added bamboo poles to erect walls, hang fun fabric curtains, laid a teak floor in the dressing room, added a bench, shelves and hooks for towels.  Then came time to address the old floor under the showerhead which was eroding with all the years of use.

We dug up, lined the ground space with landscaping fabric, and
repositioned and added more stones for a solid base underfoot.

We created drainage using an abundance of shale we already had on hand,
and used it for grouting between the stones as well.

We had fun playing tetris with the stone,
being committed to using all the materials we already had on hand,
not purchasing a single thing to make these improvements.

We created a transition between our teak dressing room floor and our shower floor.

After finding their positions we tightened the pattern and leveled them up.

This shower has been used hundreds of times.
I have no doubt this upgrade will be well received as
one of the many extraordinary experiences available to
the @gardenofeden inhabitants, our members,
and our AirBnB guests as well.
