The soul of the Dong people in China resides in Sanjiang, and the spirit of Sanjiang is best felt in the village of Yueye.

Sanjiang became the second place I grew fond of after coming to Guangxi. It’s a small town—you can walk through it all on foot.

Walking along the narrow paths at night, with the gentle evening breeze of the Dong village brushing against me, I felt a sense of familiarity, like coming home. The only difference was the architecture around me. Under the soft glow of the lights, the Dong-style buildings were truly captivating, making me feel surrounded by rich, ethnic traditions.

Jingniu Square, Moon Square, and the Yueye Drum Tower are the main gathering spots for the locals to chat and relax.

In Sanjiang, I got to experience the ancient art of tie-dyeing, enjoyed the warm hospitality of the Sanjiang Banquet, and even watched a live performance of the traditional "Sister Sitting" customs. The entire journey allowed me to dive deep into the fascinating Dong culture.
