स्वच्छ भारत अभियान भारत सरकार द्वारा आरम्भ किया गया राष्ट्रीय स्तर का अभियान है जिसका उद्देश्य गलियों, सड़कों तथा अधोसंरचना को साफ-सुथरा करना है। यह अभियान महात्मा गाँधी के जन्मदिवस 02 अक्टूबर 2014 को आरम्भ किया गया। महात्मा गांधी ने अपने आसपास के लोगों को स्वच्छता बनाए रखने संबंधी शिक्षा प्रदान कर राष्ट्र को एक उत्कृष्ट संदेश दिया था।
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a national level campaign launched by the Government of India, which aims to clean the streets, roads and infrastructure. This campaign was started on 02 October 2014 on the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi gave a good message to the nation by giving education to the people around him to maintain cleanliness.

We had this same problem in 30's, 40's and 50's people would toss trash out of cars all across the USA (for the life of me I cannot understand why).
Unfortunately we had to put laws into place to really make a difference. You are fined a good deal if you were caught littering this really helped people to take responsibility.
Hopefully your government will use the poor citizens in this project and pay them well so they can earn a living in the process.
Also, American TV would show this short commercial after all of the TV Stations would shut down for the night
(We didn't have cable back then and only 3 TV stations)
