Terrace Pond is hidden atop a small mountain in North Western New Jersey. Parking for the hike is a few miles back on Clinton Road. (Known to be one of the most haunted roads in New Jersey) People Like to swim in Terrace Pond in the summers, its a long hike to the water and once you arrive at the top the water is cool and crisp and it feels magical to swim with the turtles. It is also a very dangerous location to swim.
The water is very cold, and deep, and to swim from one side to the other one can expect to swim for atleast 500ft. Just two days ago someone died in the pond trying to swim from one side to the other. The article says that the boy was distressed and it was deemed an accidental drowning.
Remember to have a buddy with you when your swimming. Using the buddy system is a very basic and safe way to swim more safely.
