Hey Steemers!
So I was up In the air heading from Adelaide to Sydney in a plane ✈️as I wrote most of this post down on paper. I slept for half of the plane ride and wrote during the other half that I was awake for. I could have done with a few more hours of sleep I thought at that point in time, but now reflecting on the night that ensued, I was fine. 😊
The night before the plane flight, I had planned to get 8 hours of sleep, instead I ended up staying up for an extra three hours reading and watching things about cryptocurrency! I was also contemplating putting more funds into alt coins once again..
I try to discover as much as I can regarding the latest news on bitconnect, iota, EOS, bitcoin cash, ethereum and bitcoin with the few hours I spend on my laptop each day. I'm no expert in cryptocurrency, however I like to have an understanding of what I'm doing before I do it so I don't jump into trouble.
So I departed the plane with three of my work mates from the Adelaide office and we caught an Uber to Grant's hotel suite. Grant is the manager of the Sydney office for Hannah Direct. The top floor of the hotel includes a spa bath/hot tub thing and a swimming pool room with a balcony overlooking the cityscape about 6 floors above ground.
We chucked our bags in Grant's lounge room while Jamie and Eso shot up into the elevator for a swim in the spa. Anfa and I went clothes shopping and bumped into Grant who also ended up taking some Items off the shelf to wear. Once we bought what we needed, we headed back to Grant's room, left our clothes by our luggage and headed to the top floor of the hotel to find jamie, Eso, Grant and Bob in the spa.
I wasn't planning on taking a dip in the spa but I ended up doing it anyway. I enjoyed the water for a while with the team until we all went back to the hotel room and got dressed again. We headed out to a nearby pub for a $20 steak and chips; once we were full we strolled to and peered over a large swing bridge overlooking the river, a few old battleships (now decommissioned and used as a tourist attraction) and a bunch of high rise buildings, predominately used by banking institutions.
We took an Uber to our AirBnb and unloaded our baggage and the 4 of us called dibs on the room we each wanted. Once we chose our rooms, the guys crashed and relaxed until the time came to leave for the party. I decided to walk to the local hair salon and grab a hair cut before the event. I ended up going to "Hair Fantasy Kingsford" on 3/456 Anzac Parade, Kingsford. I reckon the guy who cut my hair was the salon owner. He did a great job on my hair and was easy to keep a convo goin' with 'im.
I rate his service. lol.
Not too pricey either.
I made my way back to the AirBnb, hopped in the shower and we all changed into our suits for the night ahead.
The Adelaide team looked sharp.
We took another Uber back to Grant's place to find Bob dressed up in a Pickachu costume dancing on the side of the road! Classic Bob.
Eso, Anfa and I went next door for a pre-drink at the snail restaurant next door, prime time for more pics!
After the drink we headed off in another Uber to the Lavender Bay wharf and with a bit of fluffing around on google maps we found where to go. We got to the grass area beside the pier and met the other members of Hannah Direct from trainers and assistant managers to programmers/ IT staff/ app developers to Bob as Pickachu and last but not least, the founder of Hannah Direct, Harvey.
Grant bought a huge $400 bottle of champagne and we took some pictures of pickachu taking a swig from it.
There was also a wedding at the jetty so Bob photobombed the bride and groom as Picka.
All in all there were about 30 of us waiting at the jetty for the boat to arrive and once it appeared we all hopped on board eager for a drink.
We cracked the wine to quench our thirst and eventually the DJ on top of the boat got his turn table and speakers set up and crankin' some tunes.
After some dance moves on the top of the boat, the bbq food was cooked and I downed a few kebabs. Just the thought of that food has me salivating..mmm...
(At his point in time in writing I was once again on a plane ride back to Adelaide now and I'm soo hungry, I can't wait to grab something to eat, more sleep would be nice too!)
After some time, we all gathered in the centre of the boat and locked the glass doors to where all of us sat in a circle. Harvey began to introduce the managers, Bob and a few others for a little speech to the group.
The rest of the night included a lot of dance in between eating, drinking and a few pit stops to the women's bathroom (as the men's dunny was blocked during the whole trip)
It was great to meet and chat with the awesome and positive people that Bob and Harvey have attracted to the business over the years.
One such guy is a trainer in Hannah Direct who trades cryptocurrency.
We both believe that block-chain technology will certainly become more mainstream as it changes the world and disrupts every industry out there for the better.
Thanks for reading!
