Giraffe crosses road while Redbilled ox pecker removes ticks, during our Durban safari with Tim Brown Tours.

In nature there are some lovely symbiotic relationships between mammals and Birds. One of which is the relationship between the Redbilled Ox Pecker and a Giraffe.

In this video a Red billed Ox Pecker feeds off the tick around the rear end area of the giraffe which is common just not always seen while the Giraffe is going to the toilet!

At the end of the day the Giraffe gets its health back and the bird gets a meal.

Nature is amazing! Join Tim Brown Tours on your African Safari experience beginning in Durban to Africa's oldest protected reserve, Hluhluwe Imfolozi game reserve.
