We are quickly approaching a situation from which we won't be able to come out from: the begining of WWIII.
Choosing between Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton is not the best example of a democracy. If one were to show this to the US Founding Fathers or to the French during the months of the Revolution, they would probably have become staunch monarchist. However, between a bellicose option like Hillary Clinton and an option that could perhaps be bellicose, like Donald Trump, the decision was not very difficult. But the day Trump attacked Al-Shayrat air base just over a year ago, also in April, he appeared a lot like many of his predecessors, he had no choice but to enter another war. That day Trump stopped being the president who was trying to fight against the Deep State and instead showed himself as another president without his own foreign policy.
During the night, Donald Trump again attacked Syria, with the help of the United Kingdom and France. Attack caused by the same reason as the last time: a chemical attack reported by organizations linked to terrorist groups.
The United States is always going one step further. With Obama, he wanted to invade, but Russia and the American people were against it. Trump attacked an air base, after previously informing Russia. Today, some areas of Damascus and military bases of Syria and Hezbollah, but Defense Secretary James ‘Mad-dog’ Mattis insisted that it was an attack against certain centers where chemical weapons had allegedly been developed and that it was a response measure. Where does this end? There is still a response to be made from Russia, Iran and, to a lesser extent, China about the situation, but could this be the last straw? The next one?
The attack comes after the Syrian Arab Army liberated the zone of Eastern Ghouta, place where the "attack" took place. And a week after Trump announced his desire to withdraw troops from Syria. Why would Assad do the one thing that would bring the wrath of the United States and its armed forces upon him? He is still waiting for a logical response from the warmongering "journalists" of the American corporate media, the best they can achieve: "Assad feels empowered by the desire of the US to withdraw and that is why he uses the weapons" And "Assad did it because the other times there was no response from the US ", both nonsense arguments considering sanctions were implemented and Syrian troops were bombarded on multiple occasions. Like a few months ago in the province of Deir Ezzor.
Why does the West perform such an awkward action on the basis of an easily refutable chemical attack? Because they are desperate. The only reason why there are not two socialists in the United States and the United Kingdom is thanks to the media shield that their opponents enjoy. And the ad hominem attacks suffered by both Sanders and Corbyn, especially the latter.
Capitalism is agonizing, social inequality is making itself felt in the world. It is even the inspiration of hypocritical speeches in world economic forums. And with capitalism, the United States. The Empire no longer possesses the power it enjoyed in the First Cold War, when it was considered the champion of democracy. Today, after the fiascos in the Middle East, people is through with the lies of the media. People no longer want wars and the lies necessary for social consensus are more and more. Internal conflicts are sharpening, Flint, DAPL, NAFTA, TTP, the strike in France against Macron, Brexit. The three countries have reasons to want to divert attention from their internal problems. And we are far from the effects that the success of oil in the United States could have if the Chinese gambit succeeds.
The United States began to grow after the Great Depression after the progressive measures of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, but what really generated its recovery was World War II. "Serve your country, buy war bonds," said Humphrey Bogart. The war bonds of allowed the United States to afford the Marshall Plan and prevent the fall of capitalism against socialism. Nearly 10 years after the 2008 stock market crash, the West needs a war to improve its economies. Never forget, war is great for business.
But today the geopolitical landscape is different, today there are multiple nuclear powers and not all are aligned with the West. While the Third World War is the only escape for the economic situation that countries are going through today (that maintains the current status quo), it is likely not a war we will survive. That is the problem with the West, for the moment it is just a rattling snake, but if they are desperate enough, if the falls is imminent, they will attack.
One thing is for sure, if the West starts a war against Russia, Iran and perhaps even China due to a chemical attack reported by the White Helmets in an area of the world controlled by Jaish Al-Islam, an extremist jihadist army, we do not deserve to survive that war.
Oh, and one last thing: when you hear about a chlorine attack, look for the eyes, they should irritated, as if the person had been sprayed with pepper spray. Does it look like this boy was attacked with chlorine? We must stand against the exploitation of children for propaganda purposes!
