Leader Syrian branch of Alqaeda, known as abu-Muhammad al-Jolani, supports Turkey in attacking Syrian Kurds.
Transcript:Presenter: Sheikh, we have now...if you please…
an important issue, which is the concurrence of the fighting between HTS and the National Front for Liberation and Turkey’s insistence on launching an attack, maybe in the coming days, on East of Euphrates… Kurdistan Workers’ Party
Jolani: The Kurdistan Workers’ Party…
Presenter: I mean, to what extent are the two issues related?
Jolani: There is no relation. It is a coincidental concurrence at this time.
We think that the Kurdistan Workers’ Party is an enemy of this revolution.
And it controls regions where there are large numbers of Sunni Arabs.
Those are of our tribes and their sons are fighting with us here.
And as you know, we used to have a presence in that region and controlled a large part of it back then.
We had liberated large part of it at the start of the revolution.
Thus, we think the removal of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party is a necessity.
Therefore we are for going forward to liberate that region from the Kurdistan Workers’ Party.
Thus it’s not possible for us to obstruct such an operation against one of the enemies of the revolution.
