Al-Masdar News 01-02-2018: the Syrian Army’s most important assault is actually taking place at the western front of this region.
Led by their 4th Division and Republican Guard forces, the Syrian Army has been steadily advancing in the Harasta suburb recently, capturing several important areas, including the large Al-Ajami District.
However, the Syrian Army’s biggest advance took place, today, when their forces captured more than 1km of territory inside the Harasta Orchards.
This latest advance has put the Syrian Army in position to cutoff the Harasta suburb from the rest of the East Ghouta, which would be disastrous for Faylaq Al-Rahman, Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.
According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Army is expecting cutoff of Harasta from the rest of the East Ghouta in the coming days, as they have already broken through the main jihadist line of defense.
