Syscoin (SYS) must take a different path to adoption then in my other Sound Money Series blogs. Could it become sound money in the long run? All depends on how well it plays in Merchant Adoption and Marketplace Adoption.
Syscoin Blockmarket (BM) is the battleground app that will make or break SYS. They must utterly steamroll Mercari, Depop and OpenBazaar (OB2) in terms of software development. Mercari and Depop are fiat marketplaces that are in-direct competitors. Their main foe is OB2, if they fail to make BM better than it in every way they will surely lose. I propose that Syscoin stores most Marketplace data off chain via second layer while keeping money transaction on-chain. Blockmarket has gotta become more complex, bigger listings and more details (like OB2). Listings called from blockchain but tons of data loaded from second layer to make it run faster. Under this system the network could possibility become faster then IPFS load times.
Since BM has Aliases they should shay away from being a stealth coin as they would not appeal to that market. Also a reputation based system like Listia's Ink Protocol Token (XNK) would be a great move.
Optional Path: Syscoin Twitter Clone? This could jump start their community if they had a blockchain based Twitter/Peepeth like micro-blogging site. Might takeoff due to dis-grunted people who were censored by Twitter or people on Gab who are tired of conservative politics ect.
Syscoin must gain acceptance in the Crypto ATMs. If Blockmarket takes off then this is far more doable.
