The Russian government hindered admittance to Google News in Russia late on Wednesday, refering to "problematic data" about the conflict in Ukraine, as per state news source Interfax.
The request to obstruct Google News came from Russia's telecom controller, formally known as Roskomnadzor, which previously hindered Facebook and Twitter about seven days after Russia initially attacked Ukraine on Feb. 24. Truth be told, a Russian court has contended that Facebook and its parent organization Meta are an "radical association" comparable to ISIS.
"In light of a solicitation from the Russian Prosecutor General's Office, Roskomnadzor has limited admittance to the Internet administration News.Google in the country," Roskomnadzor said in a proclamation, as per Interfax.
"The referenced U.S. web news asset gave admittance to various distributions and materials containing temperamental, freely huge data about the course of the exceptional military activity in Ukraine," Roskomnadzor proceeded.
