Berita hoax tersebut dimuat di salah satu portal online dengan judul ‘Rizieq Ditembak Tewas di Arab Saudi’. Namun judul dan isi berita tidak sesuai.
Berita tersebut justru mengulas penembakan Habib Rizieq di kediamannya di Pondok Pesantren Agrokultural Megamendung, Kabupaten Bogor, Jawa Barat.
Meski begitu, beberapa netizen tetap membagikan link berita Habib Rizieq tersebut ke grup media sosial Facebook. Salah satunya diposting akun Kelly Chen di grup Facebook Para Pecinta Habib Rizieq/FPI.
Beberapa netizen kemudian men-screenshot postingan Kelly Chen, kemudian membagikannya ke media sosial Instagram.
“Masih ga puas fitnah, lalu bikin berita hoax, semoga yg bikin berita dan yg share berita nya yg mampuss di tembak,” tulis akun Instagram _anak_babeh saat memposting berita Habib Rizieq tewas ditembak di Arab Saudi.
