I have been online since the earliest days of the Internet, before the rise of walled gardens, self-righteous censors, inane advertising and the closing of comment sections. Those early days were characterized by an open, fun-loving spirit of creativity, exploration and giving to others.

Indeed, in a recent interview on Youtube's "London Real" channel, Tim O'Reilly mentioned the fact that prosperity has come to those not afraid to give generously. I am nostalgic for those early days, and I very grateful that Steemit is helping to recreate some of this spirit of generosity. I especially want to thank you for giving your time, energy and resources to help bring about a renewed Internet!

So busy as of late - and now the price of SBD went to 16.00 - huh? Booster is moving like a turtle.

I always think about how to grow in Steemit and how to help others grow !

So I guess for people with lower Votingworth it is a fine thing do partcipate in contests, Giveaways and things like you start here.

But in the end we should never forget that Steemit.com should mainly be about content (besides earning some bucks ;)) ...

In the end more people with more Steempower means more upvoteworth for authors with good content ;)

There are questions on how booster is working. I have to work the math. I spent80 sbd without thinking or checking. The price was at over 17.00 per SBD!!! So calling in the whales (my payment to booster) was worth $1360.00 and the return was only a 90 Steem increase on the post.

Give me a couple of days and I will do another one. I am testing amounts so I can get you guys a good return for your votes. I love doing it - thanks for following up with me.

We get great curation rewards and something in the comments. That is great but remember you get a great author reward for this post too. It is a win all around in a way. Yes I upvoted my comment so some might see it.

I have broken even or even lost money on many of my contests. I have paid 60 SBD or more to the booster.

The trade off is followers and the attention necessary to succeed here on Steemit. Then there is the reputation gains.

Everyone needs to find a way to get more eyeballs on their posts. Something new and different to break the $0.00 nightmare that some of you are in.

I try to make unique or funny comments on great posts that have a lot of upvotes. It seems you get more exposure sometimes that way than by writing a great post that no one sees.

This is a cool, fun, easy contest. I dig it.

I write my post, but before posting...

I look through the new list for something the big fish have posted
I read them and try to be one of the first comments
I get really social before posting
And I stay really busy returning votes after posting
Also trying to draw attention (posting on twitter, gab) I don't use facebook!!!

Thanks! I do not ask because I think that is rude and if you want to know about me you will check out my blog and if you like it you will follow. I just talk to people and it will get you much more than asking for a follow or vote. That is what Steemit is all about to me communication and sharing ideas. If we all make some money than that is good too.

I love the contests and things like this that everyone puts out on steemit. This one is the coolest one I've seen so far. Still trying to figure things out as a minnow in this big pond but things like this help minnows turn into rock bass a little faster! I just wonder how well it works as a newbie.
