The talyatala Ganesh sarasabaga this park in Pune is an important tourist attraction. There was a worship of Ganapati Peshwa in this garden situated on the foothills of the mountain .
In the year of 1750, the construction of an artificial lake on the boundary of the Aambil was started at the foot of the mountain in the reign of Shrimant Nanasaheb Peshwa . The pond work was running from 1750 to 1753. The area of the pond would be approximately 25 acres wide. This tank was used for boating. The bird was abandoned by the stork in the pond . While digging the work of the pond, approximately 25000 sq ft island was built in Tilwa and it was reserved for the construction of the temple and garden garden. After that beautiful garden was built on the island and Srimant Sawai Madhavrao Peshve named the poetic 'Saras Bagh' of this garden.
In 1784, Srimant Sawai Madhavrao Peshve built a small temple on the island of Lake and established an idol of Lord Siddhivinayak Ganjana. Naturally, mountains , storks , and lakes became the places of worship and devotion to Puneites.
During the pre-independence era around 1861, many seats in the city were given to Pune Municipal Corporation. At that time, the transfer of the lake from the island of Ganpati to the Pune Municipal Corporation was transferred. The park was developed from the Pune Municipal Corporation in the year 1966 in the lake area.
