Temples are a major part of the Indian tradition and culture. It can be clearly understood why the Indians visit temples before any good occasion or festival. You can find temples in each corner of India. You might be under the notion that there is no science behind the visit to temples. There are scientific reasons that can help you know the meaning of visits to the temples. Though there are many other reasons to visit the temples, we can obviously focus on the three basic reasons for which the Hindus visit the temple.

1. Doshas or Pariharam

There is a significant number of Hindus who visit temples because of this reason. Though this is a selfish reason, this is the reason why most of people visit the temples. People visit because of the Doshas. It is believed that each individual is born under influence of various planets and for a few unlucky ones the impact of the planets is higher. If the impact is negative, they struggle in life. They visit the temples to get rid of such struggles and sufferings. It is said that the planetary influence can be countered by the visits to the temples and on the performance of the rituals of Pariharam.

2. Spirituality

This is an unimportant yet rational reason why the Hindus love to visit the temples. Many of the people who visit the temples are not actually religious but spiritual. The best example is The Kashi Vishwanath temple where the people come from all around the world. The people come because of spiritual reasons and visit temples to communicate with the gods.

3. The Positive energy around temples

The location of temples, the deities, all lead to positive energy in the temples. The temples are a house of positive energy and give you great feeling when you visit it. It is considered as a place of communal of the inner and outer energies and a place of divinity. The temples are not only about the statues, as the statues are just the stones that are given special shapes and shine. It is basically the energy and the environment of temple that matters. You will feel something different at the moment you get inside the temples. You will surely experience peace. Everyone comes temples with a feeling of surrender and bow with all heart. This leads to the creation of positive vibes in the area of temple.

Hindus treat the Temples as very special. It is a holy place and not a place for the community building. Events such as Satsang and Pravachan are held in the temples. There are various merits of praying at temples than at the homes.
