Pablo Ziegler
PABLO ZIEGLER was born on September 2, 1944 in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He studied at the Conservatory of Music in Buenos Aires, where he graduated as a piano teacher. Then he perfected with the teachers Adrian Moreno and Galia Schaljman. He studied composition with Professors Gerardo Gandini and Francisco Kröplft.
To the 14 years begins to act professionally with different groups of jazz and in parallel it gives concerts of classical music like soloist until the 18 years.
Then he created the "PABLO ZIEGLER TERCETO" dedicated to classical music in jazz, with his own arrangements and simultaneously wrote music as: "POWDER OF STARS" (musical comedy); "THE NIGHT OF THE GREAT" (T.V.); "ADIOS ROBERTO" and "TACOS ALTOS" (cinema) etc.
In 1978 he joined the ASTOR PIAZZOLLA quintet and began to travel in Europe, USA, Japan, etc. Working with world-renowned artists such as the Italian singer MILVA and the North American vibraphonist GARY BURTON.
In 1989, after a heart ailment, the Master Astor Piazzolla decides to dissolve the famous quintet.
From that moment ZIEGLER began the rehearsals with his "QUARTET FOR THE NEW TANGO", with which he debuted on May 31, 1990 with great success of public and critic.
At the end of that year he recorded "LA CONEXIÓN PORTEÑA", his first production as composer of "New Tango" for SONY MUSIC. The following year he records Piazzolla's music, as a soloist with BUENOS AIRES PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA, under the direction of maestro Pedro Ignacio Calderón; Following this begins a tour as a guest musician of the maestro. They perform presentations at the Teatro Colón (Argentina), EXPOSEVILLA 92 (Spain), etc. At the end of 1991, he was invited by Ettore Stratta, American Director, to participate as a soloist in the album "Symphonic Tango", produced by Warner-Teldec (USA), where he also recorded a composition entitled "MILONGA EN EL VIENTO "With the ROYAL PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA OF LONDON.
In 1992 he is invited by the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival (New Mexico-USA) to give a series of concerts, then acts in the city of New Orleans where he receives the title of "ILUDE CITY OF NEW ORLEANS", hands Of the mayor mayor. Upon his return from the US, "The Theater Critics Association and Theater Researchers" awarded him the "ARLEQUIN 92" NATIONAL AWARD for the best theater music, for Harold Pinter's "Betrayal".
