Tantra: What Is True Intimacy?

Most people hear "Tantra" and think of Sting having sex for 24 hours! (Yes, there's stories about that, if you haven't heard)

But there's a lot more to it than that.

In truth, it's a spiritual path that has SEX as a major component.

It's very interesting as a path to liberation.

The Buddhists believe the path to freedom involves eliminating desire. IF you don't WANT anything, then you'll be happy. Just sit there under a tree and meditate.

Now, this can work for some people I guess - but it never really resonated with me very much. I mean there's a huge world out there with so many AMAZING things to experience. Food, Travel, Friends, Crypto Currencies... and WOMEN!

I mean jeez... If we weren't suppose to connect with the opposite sex... Why did nature make it so that we HAVE to get together in order to propagate the species?

Seems like we are SUPPOSED to be going at it. But… what if we could HAVE SEX - AND gain clarity about who we are…. Connect to, and LOVE ourselves more?

This is where tantra is different. The belief in the tantric path is that we are supposed to ENJOY sex and USE IT as part of our journey to spiritual liberation.

Pretty cool, if you ask me. (And a lot more fun, too...!)
