Collapse of Virtue

in taotuesday •  5 years ago

"When virtue is lost, benevolence appears, when benevolence is lost, right conduct appears, when right conduct is lost, expedience appears. Expediency is the mere shadow of right and truth, it is the beginning of disorder." - Lao Tzu
.
Courage...
The most necessary of all Virtues
.
Without it...
How can One be virtuous?
.
One must have Courage knowing that to defend the good...
One must be prepared for Conflict and Sacrifice
.
Benevolence as One's highest standard...
Leads One to be tolerant of Evil...
To Appease instead of Answer
.
It is only Time...
Until One's Conduct is not of Dao...
But of the Appeased
.
Corruption and Disruption...
Holy Dao can be hard to find in such Times...
As The Higher Order is Usurped
.
One must have a Special Place for Courage in One' Soul...
.
As when Courage Dies....
The Soul begins it's Retreat
