I know… its been a while. But because its been a while, it just means I have a shit ton of music to share with you guys. So, no lengthy intro this time lets just jump down the bunny hole….
Tash Sultana:
I know what you’re thinking, “Man that name sounds kind of familiar”. Well you’re right this time I’m showing you an artist who isn’t so underground you need a shovel to find but she is still not radio popular.
Tash is a young Aussie singer- songwriter. What is so sick about her is that she basically is a one-man band. She plays about a million instruments which might be a little dramatic. So, basically her MO is she goes up on stage with barefoot with her trippy tapestry down, she has a key board, a guitar, mic, and some amps. She then just goes in on it. What I mean by that is right there she lays down and creates a beat, records it, and plays it back adding to it each time. Once she’s content with the sound she just starts singing over it. Honestly its pretty sick.
So now you know a little about her, but what the hell is her music like? By me describing what her concerts are like you can probably guess she is not singing opera or some hard metal, yeah? Her music can be put in the categories of psychedelic rock, alternative rock, or even reggae rock. Think of bands like The Rubens, Lime Cordiale, Sticky Fingers, Cub Sport.
Just to put out there she just dropped her 3rd album: Flow State. And she’s on tour. So, do yourself a favor and check this beast of an artist out.
Check out the links below, they are some of my favorites of her songs (sorry no music videos, shes not about that life).
