Qivaro Ultra Superfood Greens Review for Task Tuesday 07312018

The idea behind #TaskTuesday is to assign yourself something that needs to be done and then do it! Of course there are a lot of other daily and weekly challenges but this gives you another option in the content creation idea arsenal. Today I needed to get a review video finished for my Qivaro experience.

I've never really heard of "alkalizing your body" before trying this supplement. What does it mean and why would I want to boost my alkalinity?

Here is a good article on the 10 Reasons You Should Alkalize Your Body but the more I read about pH, ketosis, and alkaline, the further I felt like I was going down the rabbit hole of information.

What is pH balance?

In plain terms your body is kind of on a see-saw of finding balance between acidic and basic (alkaline). Too much acid in your system may cause inflammation. Your body holds less oxygen and longterm effects of low pH can eventually lead to conditions like heart disease or bone loss.1

Too much alkaline in your body and you risk gastrointestinal or skin irritation.2

The directions on the Qivaro package does state to take once a day with food. I've been practicing a Keto diet with drink supplements that suggest drinking it with or without food but challenges you not to chew; in other words fasting. So I thought, meh, "Take once a day with food" is just a recommendation, right? Well... I tried that and maybe about 10 minutes later I had the shakes and felt a little nauseated. 3

When I put a scoop of this into my smoothie mix, I did not suffer from nausea or shaky hands because the fruit and yogurt served well enough as a meal.

Note to self: Follow the directions, dummy!

Product Observations

I've got the Tropical Fruit flavor. When you open the package it seems like the powder is quite fine but in truth is it's pretty dense but not to the point where it's grainy. I did notice settling of the powder when my drink sat for a short amount of time so if you try this supplement, definitely sip it, shake it, repeat until it's gone.

If you're adverse to green drinks, this may not be for you. It significantly changes to the color of one's pretty fruit smoothie into something that looks like it was dug up from the swamp, but it actually has a nice taste.

If you're mixing it with water, I would recommend a teaspoon or more of local honey, or as recommended, a little apple juice to sweeten it up. There is a slight nutty taste and overall this has been a pleasant experience. Qivaro fits well into my diet.

Positive Effects

After trying this product for a week I have noticed a boost in my energy level. I've always suffered from a lull in energy around 2-3 PM. It's one of those times of day that I really want to take a nap and could easily fall asleep. Since taking this supplement, I've been able to power through the sleepy time. I've also noticed that my coffee consumption has decreased, albeit slightly, and I'm sleeping a little better at night.

Conclusion

When you're starting any kind of diet or trying new supplements, be sure to consult with your healthcare provider especially if you're taking medication. I am neither a doctor or nutritionist and my observations are my own based on my personal dietary needs and goals.

Hummm, sounds interesting @merej99 ! and I did not know you were a product tester! Cool! I could use more energy myself, and it would be nice to sleep better during the day without taking a sleeping pill when I get home from the graveyard shift! ✌😀👍

As a self-diagnosed insomniac, I couldn't give you any advice on how to fall asleep better but I have noticed that I go to bed tired and sleep hard lately. Maybe because I have energy through the day and I'm honestly wiped out? I don't know!

Cool explanation. We can maintain every component level of our body by just doing morning exercise.

I always feel so much better after I exercise! My biggest hurdle is starting especially when it's so much easier to grab a drink and sit at the computer to start my work day.
