Apart from KFC and CFC, there are no international franchise restaurants in Lhokseumawe, Aceh. There are several franchise restaurants from Indonesia, one of them being Papa Ron’s Pizza, which has been present in Lhokseumawe City for the last seven years or so.
According to Bisnis Waralaba, Papa Ron’s Pizza started business in 2000 ago in Indonesia and two years later opened franchise outlets in several major cities in Indonesia.
Unlike the international franchise that targets the upper class of Indonesian people, Papa Ron’s Pizza is targeting the middle class which is even more numerous in Indonesia. No wonder then that their outlets also exist in Lhokseumawe which is a small town.
At first, Papa Ron’s Pizza opened a booth at Harun Square, a small shopping center in Lhokseumawe. Then they moved to Jalan Lhokseumawe Pase, separate from the supermarket. That is, now if you want to eat pizza, they specifically come to Jalan Pase.
However, the move did not reduce the visitors at Papa Ron’s Pizza, at least that was seen every weekend or at the end of the year, and other holidays.
Maybe the only pizza franchise in the city of Lhokseumawe, Papa Ron’s has always been the choice of many people. Besides Papa Ron’s, there are only a few small pizza shops in Lhokseumawe. Although small and simple, the taste of their pizza products is not inferior to international franchises.
‘Cause the price is relatively expensive, our family only visits Papa Ron’s Pizza on certain days, usually when there are family members who are having a birthday. My two sons, happy to go there because they always get balloons.
Every time to Papa Ron’s, our order menu is almost as long. American Classic is definitely there with a rim filled with half beef sausage and half with cheese. Usually, containing cheese is my choice and sausages for children.
We always order American Classic because we like mushrooms sprinkled on top with tomatoes, onions and peppers. At least we ordered a medium size American Classic if only me and my family came. Sometimes, my niece from other cities also joined in so we had to order a large size.
Besides American Classic, another mandatory menu is barbecue-flavored chicken wing. Pieces of chicken wings are small in size and covered in sauce that usually comes faster than the new American classic that arrives 15 minutes later. Not surprisingly, the barbecue-flavored chicken wing was gone when American classic arrived on the table.
Perhaps the influence of Indonesian eating traditions, we also often eat American classic as a main menu and chicken wings as a side dish. So, one bite of our American classic bite with a few chicken wing bites. You can try and the pizza tastes a little different from the others.
One day, the taste of chicken wing barbecue was different from what we used to eat. When a week later we returned and ordered a chicken wing barbecue and said it didn't taste like last week, the waiter apologized and said they had already changed chefs. Instead, they provided us with a free portion of barbecue.
Two of my daughters order more often the spaghetti bolognese menu which is full of cheese and lasagna. Sometimes I come to taste it.
For drinks, some of us ordered cold frappe and coffee mocca, plus mineral water. It was enough to celebrate a special day.[]
