Kekesteto is the name of the highest mountain in Hungary and it is a bit more than 1000 meters high. Last week, I visited Kekesteto to enjoy the view from the TV tower there (absolutely worth a visit), and next to the TV tower you can find the restaurant named Teto etterem.
This isn't a restaurant in which you sit down and get served by the table, but it is a place where you go and tell them which food you want, and then you get it on a plate, you go an pay for it, and find a table where you can sit down and eat. There are lots of traditional Hungarian courses to choose from and the price level isn't bad at all, considering that this is the only restaurant at this very location.
During winter time, people come here to go skiing, and the restaurant is fully operable at that time as well, making this a great place to stop both during summer and winter time.
We ate some Hungarian goulash stew with noodles, and also some wiener schnitzel with fries. All the food was good and tasty, not the very best and I wouldn't return to Kekesteto to dine here, but if I ever return to go on an excursion in the forest, to visit the TV tower or maybe to go skiing, I would have no trouble dining at Teto etterem once again.
You might not ever get to visit this place, but if you decide to visit the highest point in Hungary, Teto etterem is the restaurant closest to the highest location!
