A very special Hungarian specialty, often referred to as a Hungarikum, is the poppy seed cake. It is a very strange cake, and it is a popular dessert. It is strange, few tourists like it, but the locals really love it.

But, what is it made of? Can you imagine. It is really strange. The poppy sead cake, is actually made of the buns you buy, but don't eat. They get dry, and you almost want to throw them away. That is when you soak them in milk, and then in the end you pour a lot of poppy seads on them. Now, that isn't all, but that is the short way of explaining the food. Now, when this is done, it doesn't look so nice. The trick is the vanilla sauce which is poured on the top of it all, and that is when it is finished and you are ready to eat.

I just bought this at Csibefalo in Budapest, a restaurant located in the Budaors Tesco facilities. It is a very popular place to go, and they have lots of other food (main courses as well), but I decided to eat the dessert only.

Is it worth eating? Is Csibefalo worth visiting?

They make great food in csibefalo, and if you do not like the poppy sead cake, it is probably not because of the poor kitchen, but rather because of your own taste. But, if you want to give Hungarian food a try, this is a very popular dessert worth trying!

What is the texture like eating it?

It is a bizarre looking cake, but I would try it!

I want to try that in the future
