In Matera I ate a delicious ice cream at Schiuma, a small ice cream and pastry shop that makes artisanal products. The ice cream parlor is located on the main street of the historic center of the city and is packed with many tourists who want to enjoy a good dessert.
The restaurant is very small but cozy and well-ordered. The desserts are displayed in the window along with a list of ice creams that can change from time to time.
There are no outdoor tables to sit and enjoy your dessert, but there is a small counter inside the restaurant itself. During the day, excellent breakfasts were also served and the scent of croissants is very intense.
The sales girl welcomed us on a sunny note and was very kind in explaining the list of available ice creams. I chose a fresh lemon taste, very delicate and not very sweet. The aroma is intense.
If you are on holiday in Matera, I recommend you to enjoy a good dessert and at Schiuma, I'm sure you will like it!
