Healthy Affordable Delicious Lunch

Today, my mom and i had lunch in Plaza Mandiri, an area consisted of many Mandiri bank buildings. One of the building next to their parking building was where we had lunch, the food court building. This building had some floors which each had many food stalls, like 2nd floor we had lunch. We came there at 11.30 am, but there had already been many customers there.

How the 2nd floor food court looked like.

They had many food stalls here and they also had a large dining area (indoor for non smoking area, and outdoor for smoking area).
The dining area was large, clean and neat. They had the cleaning service team that always clean the table after we finished our dine.

Here was the food stall where we bought our main dish, it was gado-gado palem.

Like the name, it only sold gado-gado. If you haven't heard it before, gado-gado is an authentic Indonesian dish. It contained many boiled vegetables such as lettuce, cabbage, beansprouts, corn, and spinach, potato, fried tofu. They then stirred it in the peanut paste (which you could order the spicyness level). And then it served with the fried chips.

The waitress asked us what the menu we wanted.

We had paid then wait for the gado-gado to be prepared.

The waiter prepared the gado-gado inside the box, on the right side of the stall. He was skillfull in making the peanut paste, so we didn't wait a long time to get our gado-gado.

Here were the main dish for the lunch

My mom's was gado-gado with lontong (rice cake)

while mine was gado-gado with rice.

The taste of gado-gado was sweet, a bit savory and a bit spicy (we chose medium spicyness). The vegetables were all fresh and also had high quality. It also had a half of boiled egg. For each gado-gado (with rice or lontong), the price was 19k IDR. So two portions of it had 38k IDR.

Beside this mom also bought, a bowl of the clear spinach soup in another foodstall.

The spinach soup was fresh, as usually sweet. But the spinach was too old so it was not easy to bite it. The corn inside was sweet. The price of this bowl of soup was only 5k IDR.

And also we bought 2 glasses of the young coconut iced. Actually first we bought one glass but it was totally fresh so we bought another one.

For a glass of the young coconut, the price was 12k IDR. So for two glasses we bought 24k IDR.
They delivered it to our table.

The coconut was so fresh, soft and delicious. They put a bit of stroop to make it sweet and also fresh. The stroop was also so tasted so good.

The Price
For all of the food and drink we had today, we needed to pay 66k IDR altogether, or around 4.71 USD. I'm sorry for they all didn't give us the receipt for each payment we made, they reduced the paper usage.
