Last May my friend Zhy and I went to the island paradise Siargao for her birthday. We went to the famous Kermit restaurant. We were excited and had high expectations of the place especially that it was tagged as one of the best by many social influenzer.
We arrived around four pm expecting a fast service so we can explore the place more but to our disappointment of took us close to two hours just to have this pizza. Good that the pizza and the margarita didn't disappoint us or else we would have wasted our time.
The ambiance is impressive with its use of indigeneous materials giving off that tropical carefree vibe.
Their outdoor brick oven gives off the aromatic smell that fills the place. So that being enticing enough would make anyone wait a few minutes more but not for two hours as what we had experienced. No place is worth the wait in my book
I think it makes bas business impression on customers if they're made to wait long hours just to see there is an "exclusive for Kermit cove guest "sign over empty spaces .I saw many locals and foreign guest walk out after much bargaining with the staff to take those spaces
Good thing they have this buy one take one margarita. It was my first taste if this popular drink.
In my mind this place would be cozy with soft music playing among or a party zone at best. This lamp might have created that romantic feel but at that time I was there the air felt dead. No music just loud mouths.
True it has the lush vegetation and the impressive architecture to brag about but the pizza was just as tasty as the ones I had in Italian restaurants in Cebu. Nothing impressive except for the presentation and the fact it was baked naturally.
The restaurant is located in Purok 5 General Luna. From our place of abode we need to ride a motorcycle as its a few feet of rough road from the main street. The driver over charged us at 20 Philippine pesos a head from customary 10 so I'm a way that kick off my anger radar.
Overall this spot offers good medium range food but one has to come here with a full stomach or else you'd pass gas from all the waiting.
