Ah Chee Tom Yam Mum-mum

Yeah, I donno about you but my parents (typical Asians) told me when I was 5 years old to eat, they say "Come, let's mum-mum."

My friend brought me here to eat lunch because she said the Tom Yam here was really good. TOM YAM is type of soup based, where is it sour and spicy. Very Good healthy and recommended for diabetics such as myself.

As we peruse the menu on the wall, there are few types of meals served here. The signature Tom Yum, Laksa, Rice Wine Prawn and Thai Style Chicken Claws.

I chose Prawn Noodle (Rice Vermicelli @ Meehoon). My friends chose Tom Yam and Laksa each respectively.

The restaurant was a simple and clean set up with wooden tables and chairs. Typical restaurant where drinks station and kitchen are at the back of the unit.

It was quite famous indeed. Being in the centre of the city of Kota Kinabalu, there were many customers come in and go this reataurant.

Laksa Mee

Laksa was like curry with coconut milk. The noodle was also accompanied with fried tofu pok, prawns and vegetables.

TOM YAM Meehoon

Accompanied with prawns only, this spicy and sour dish was the star of the restaurant. For me it was quite nice.

Prawn Meehoon in Rice Wine

Four big prawns, ginger slices and rice wine loaded in a bowl.

Rice wine will be spoilt if you boil it on top of fire. Therefore, tasty rice wine should be poured right before you turn off the heat on the stove. Do not boil it.

This rice wine could make me drunk if I don't have the guts for it. Haha, the prawns were fresh and perfectly cooked. It was not chewy... It was fleshy and "crunchy".

Definitely my favorite of the week.
