Swastik ice cream parlour and fast food centre review.

I decided to try out new places today for lunch. I did a takeaway from Swastik Fast Food centre. It is located on the street opposite Indiabulls Finance Centre.

I have always seen this place buzzing during evening and lunch so decided to go there. Unfortunately, there is no place to sit so takeaway was the only option.

Menu -

Apart from the sandwiches and rolls, one can also get packaged soft drinks.

And of course, ice cream as it is an ice cream parlour.

I ordered a vegetable toast sandwich without butter. The bread is white, but an option for brown is also available.

Let's see how it's made -

One bread slice is layered with mint sauce and butter, and on top goes cucumber, my sandwich didn't get the butter -

Then comes boiled potato and chat masala -

On goes beetroot, tomato and bell pepper-

Post that, goes on top the other slice of bread. Another layer of butter on top and sandwiches are moved to a grill machine.

5 minutes between the hot grill plates and the sandwich turns nice and brown and real crisp.

Another thin layer of mint chutney is put on top and the sanwich is wrapped in aluminium foil and given in a parcel bag.

The cooking or sandwich prep area is super clean. The guy making the sandwiches is super quick and it's meditative to see him slice through vegetables. The portion of veggies in the sandwich is a lot and for reference, more than what Subway gives in its 6 inch subs.

And now if you didn't read the menu too closely, guess the price? Inr 30 or less than $0.50!! The guy even threw in a ketchup sachet.

The sandwich was really good, I liked the fact that boiled potato was used instead of spicy potato mash. The mint Chutney after the sandwich has been grilled is not needed as it makes that slice somewhat soggy reducing the crispness. Also, it's too hot so less is better. With all that filling inside, the sandwich is filling and great value for money.

Rating - 5, on a scale of 1 o 5, 5 being best.
