The rumor is that the hamburger was invented at Louis Lunch. I'm not sure this is true, but you will believe it after watching them prepare your burger.
The burgers are prepared in old cast iron stoves that almost look like a cross between a grill and a toaster. The burgers are grilled to perfection and then placed between 2 piece of toasted bread. No hamburger buns here, no fancy condiments, just plain delicious on a paper plate.
The menu is simple you either order a hamburger or a cheeseburger. The joke at Louis Lunch is "This is not Burger King and you don't get it your way."
Louis Lunch has been doing burgers since 1895. They know what they are doing and this becomes obvious when you taste this burgers. They are unadorned ,juicy, and purely delicious.
