Kagari is a ramen store that originates from the Ginza are in Tokyo, Japan. It is famous for its rich chicken broth and it is so good that it has been included in the Michelen guide two consecutive years.

I have never tried their ramen in Japan and thought it was too good an oppportunity to pass by when I saw that they had opened up locally.

Their outlet is located in a food court in an outlet mall, and they were one of the many Japanese outlets there. I actually tried out quite a few of the other places on this visit, so I will be sharing the remaining with you later on when I have a chance.

Back to Kagari. They didn't have many dishes on offer, just their most famous chicken broth ramen, and I think there were a couple other non chicken ones as well. You can order the ramen either on its own, or as a set that came with a side dish and drink. I had my eyes set on their most famous chicken broth ramen so didn't even both to look at the others. And I order the ramen on its own as I knew I was going to try out some of the stalls.

So here's my chicken broth ramen. It came with only a few pieces of chicken, a piece of asparagus and brocolli each, and a few bits of shitake mushroom. I can't remember the exact price, except that it was quite a bit more expensive than the normal Japanese ramen here.

My verdict? The broth was definitely very creamy and rich and full of chicken flavour. In fact I thought it tasted a bit like the chicken cream soup that you get from a tin, only it's not so thick. I was definitely a delicious broth, but since it was quite expensive compared to other ramens which are also very good, I probably won't be back in a hurry to try it again.
