Natural Food Produce: "White Man"😂

in tasteem •  5 years ago

What did you hear about local foods?
Here is one of our local and best food produce
With this, we can derive so many food products
Examples are garri, foofoo known as white man in slang form, pounding, edita iwa in our dialect, ASA iwa too. Name them.

But today what will we be doing with this? Its simple, we wanna do foofoo that is the White man used for soups. How do we process this?

First you need to harvest it from the farm just as you've seen. That is the harvested produce with peels on it. Then you bring it home and Peel it

Here is the already Peel food produce. After peeling it, it will appear dirty with stains from the peels but you don't need to worry because you can easily wash off the dirt

You place it in a bigger bowl or basin, and start Washing. The dirt will begin to go off but the first water wouldn't make it clean

So you continue washing and washing, until the dirty water changes.

Here when the colour becomes white and spotless then you are almost done with the washing

Be sure the water is clear and clean. Then you rinse the food produce and stuck them up in another empty container

Stuck them up well, so the don't fall off. Then when you are done with washing and everything.

You place it in a more wider basin or container and pour in water. This is to help soften the cassava

Soak for at least three days. To enable the cassava to be well soften, before you take it for grinding.

For now we will stop here till when the soaked cassava; food produce is soft for grinding.

More updates will come up soon!
