A couple of weeks before moving to Australia my friend created and tattooed this tiny plane ✈️️ behind my neck (pictured above); along with my travel motto “Just Go” written out in cursive behind my ear. This was after years of claiming to be one of those people that said they’d never get a tattoo. Go figure.
That last month before the move was the first time I had ever felt free. Most of my life I’ve felt lost, and although I traveled a lot, I was still in what seemed to be a never-ending routine. Work for a year, get 2 weeks off to go on vacation (and hope that it doesn’t overlap with any big work projects), work for another year, and repeat.
This was the first time I stopped caring what others would say or what they would think about my spontaneous idea and decided to take action on something that I really wanted. I literally had no idea what was in store - and I loved the fact that I didn’t! All I had was a one-way plane ticket and a lot of adrenaline.
I never wanted the sensation of this overwhelming happiness to fade, so I chose to get these tattoos to remind myself how amazing it felt to pursue something I felt so strongly about. I want them to encourage me to always pursue that feeling. It’s not likely I’ll be moving continents on a regular basis, but the point is, I want to continue to chase whatever it is that brings that feeling back. Thank you for the parting gifts Noah love them.
