Flower of Barcelona

Hi everyone :)

I live in Barcelona and even if I was born there I still think it’s one of the best cities in the world to live or to go on holidays. It has all in one: sea, city, mountain and a lot of different cultures, good food, night life… Even if you’re a local or a tourist, most of the people don’t realize that this city has such charms even in its tiles. Barcelona has at least 13 different types of tiles all around the city and if you go for a walk and pay attention you’ll see them.

I want to tell you about the second tattoo I got done. I wanted something from my city, but didn’t want the typical word or flag… I wanted something original that maybe a foreigner wouldn’t know about. Even some locals don’t. One day, walking around the city I had the idea of tattooing my favorite tile which has the shape of a flower and the Catalan word for it is “Flor de Barcelona” (flower of Barcelona) which was created in 1926 by the architect Josep Puig I Cadalfach.

Check out the different patterns in this beautiful city! I think it’s a creative type of art from all of the other surprises that Barcelona has to discover!
