Tattoos & the public.

I am tattooed. I do believe on last count, I had over 30+ tattoos. The mass majority are cartoon characters. Mostly Disney. I do have Beetlejuice and Lydia in cartoon form, on my right leg.

However, I digress.

Since it's been hot, muggy, smokey and all sorts of disgusting outside... I have been wearing short sleeved t-shirts, and dress shirts when I walk to work. Or ride the bus to work. OR just generally walk to and from places.

I've noticed when I wait for transit, if I am wearing a sleeveless shirt - people tend to steer clear of me. No, this is not me being super paranoid. I have watched this with my own two eyes.

If I am sitting on a bus bench - all tattoos out - people will not sit on the bench.

It's not the best picture, but this shows some of my ink. It's not disturbing, it's not offensive. There is absolutely no swear words, no boobs on ANY of my ink.

Few days ago I wanted to test my theory. So I went onto the bus - sleeveless shirt. The bus was PACKED full - no joke. Absolutely nobody sat beside me. In fact, no one sat on my seat - until I removed myself from the bus.

The next day, it was a little cold in the morning. So I put on my Queen hoodie (Yes, Queen the band!) ... and sat down. Both arms covered up k? Guess what? Full bus again, but someone sat beside me. Reason being? You could not see ANY of my ink.

I don't understand the judgments with ink. We're in 2017 folks. Tattoos are much more mainstream now. They won't bite you. They aren't contagious, unless you want them to be.

People, I tell ya.

I'm not a fan of tattoos. Never have been. I still don't have one and have no desire to get one. I suppose I think I was born to look this way for a reason between the genetics of my mom and dad and what God wants me to look like.

Maybe I'm just old school.

See, I get that. It's fine, it's a personal choice.
