Dozens of local and foreign tourists are invited to tour the potential tourism of Gampong Pande, Kutaraja Sub-district, Banda Aceh, Saturday (30/9). One that is introduced is catching crabs in the pond and see the charm of the mangrove forest.

The 'wet-wet gampong' activity is a series of exhibitions of Gampong Pande's gampong exhibition by Gampong Pande, ICAIOS, and Urbanisme Warga. A total of 60 local and foreign tourists, partly from Taiwan, Lithuania and Zimbabwe are invited to see local activities of Gampong Pande catch crabs with traditional equipment.

Assistant Urbanism Assistant Program, Muhammad Riansyah told Serambi yesterday that the wet-wet gampong gampong's activity was to introduce a number of activities and potential of Gampong Pande to tourists, as a tourist attraction.

According to him, some Pande Gampong residents work as crab seekers, so tourists are invited to know more closely the activities of farmers on how and the means of catching crabs. Even at the end of the activity, tourists can enjoy crab caught by the citizens.

In addition, yesterday tourists are also invited to see the scenery of mangrove forest surrounding Gampong Pande. The existence of Mangrove forests is part of the disaster mitigation that will protect the coastal residents.

Today, the activity will continue to see the potential of nipah trees in the gampong. Locals already use the nipah fruit to be processed into syrup or juice that has economic value. In addition, they will also see the existence of historical sites in the gampong in the form of tombs of nobles and scholars of antiquity. To note, based on historical records Gampong Pande is the forerunner of the founding of Banda Aceh.
