It has been the start of the year 2018 and at the same time tax reform already in effect starting January 1 , 2018.They call this new tax reform as Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) . Mainly this tax focuses on the increase of fuels. They have informed the public that the increase is only effective on the new fuels and those old stocks are not included on the tax. Source here

We would probably expect some possible rally from transport groups on the fuel increase , so they could get some increase on the fare too.With a fare hike going on , the value of the peso will decrease.
I am hoping the effect of this tax increase will be positive on upcoming days.I always trust the government on their decisions, their might be good effects why do they implement this.

Tax increase will be bad for us who has above the minimum wage. I do not mind though. I just hope that the money will be put to good use and not to someone's pocket.

Tax increase will definitely be a strain into our budget. Even though that the income tax of the regular Filipino will be lessen still knowing how the price will increase astronomically it is something that will be a burden.
Imagine the suggested jeepney fare from 8 pesos to 12 per ride. Tsk.
What we can do is to trust this thing in the government, because they already invested some time on researching on this matter. Maybe they will have some countermeasures that we do not know yet.

Yes you are very correct with those statements @tpkidkai, i am a bit worried about this but i trust our government's decision. If salary increase will be implemented as well, surely some company will close down or cost cutting which results negative effect. I hope it won't be that way.
