There are a few different reasons I decided not to continue with driving...

  1. I am an addict.
  2. Offers have become overwhelming and that temptation lurking over my shoulder, well, if I don't have to experience it, I can change what I do.
  3. The hours were not consistent, meaning that I was unable to change shifts at a precise time.
  4. My pay was not enough for having to maintain my car as well as the other car I drove.
  5. I never could see my son.
  6. I have so many things irl that need to be addressed andI can't get them done whenI don't even know what day it is.
  7. I am not ok being used.
  8. I couldn't take care of my family on the pay.

What would you do if you worked 15 hours and only brought home $25 usd?

You know when it's time to leave and good for you on doing so.

It was definitely time to go! There are more jobs out there so no worries!!

Aw. Bummer to hear it didn't work out for you. I enjoyed the stories.. And.. I hope you can find something new soon that works much better for you!

I don't blame you@charisma777. It's a hard industry when you work for a traditional taxi service. It's harder for the others. You usually do get more consistent hours, pay is usually a bit more steady, but there are days like that. The drivers that make good money work 12-14 hr shifts 4-5 days a week. 80-85% of our business is medicaid so it's a lot of small runs.

I totally get the not knowing what day it is, since I work graveyards. You're meant for better and it will come.

I honestly thought I'd being in more pay thanI had. There were too many different things that just didn't make sense to me. Like the pay it wasn't worth my time i wanted to do more but this is not my passion i suppose! I would be losing more as a single mother...off to do something new. I'm not a tree... ama although i did enjoy some of the people I really can't put my sobriety on the line.

Yeesh, well, for one thing, I would certainly not continue working for < $2 net takehome pay / hour. You are making the right call. I am sending some good energy out into the universe and hoping that an awesome gig lands in your lap. Much love - Carl

Right! I felt taken advantage of and really for that I can do that on steemit and have fun and not put anyone in danger. Lack of sleep is a killer.

Well straight from commenting on your final confessions, as I said there I understand and commend you for sticking it out as long as you did! You need an uplifting type of job, considering all you're going through. And you are very helpful and supportive of others here on steemit. As you are one of my favourite steemians, I would like to give you some steembasicincome, is that okay?

Well this is a pleasant surprise!! It truly humbled me to read that i am on someone's favorite steemians list!! Thank you and yes with all the other things going on that job just wasn't the one for me. Although i will miss some of the people i have to think about what my family needs for sure! As far as the sbi sure that would be awesome thank you!

Thing is, there are a few people who are always doing stuff for someone else and you're one of them. Plus you have a lot to deal with in real life. The SBI is done, not sure how long it takes to reflect, also it's not worth much unless you get some more. I got given some by @themanwithnoname and @deliberator. By the way, any news regarding your brother?

That is not very much at all. Can't say I blame you at all. And taxi driving, like you said well, sometimes people want to pay in other than cash, because they spent it all at the bar. So not a good idea for you. Best to keep yourself and kids safe. And shift work is not something to take lightly, it effects not only your life, but family and friends, not knowing what day of the week, yep, and in Alaska, in the summer not knowing if the sun was coming up or going down, or what time 9:00 o'clock is am or pm, same thing in the winter only its dark is it am or pm. Shift work sucked, and still sucks I am sure.

It's not a great paying job around my part of the world lol

Posting 4 times a day here plus comments will net you more than that damn job.

Lol just got the notification for this comment lol thinking ginabot is so active lately she is having a bit of lag... she is tired and needs a rest!!!

As far as posting and commenting i am planning on skiing jyst that in the meantime. I also am going to go to a few places that have open interviews and go from there... As much as i do not want to 9-5 it I gotta do something more than drive for <$2/hr.
